In my LGBT studies class this guy said that to get our equal rights we should show that we are the same, not different. I feel like no, I am not the same as you. I am different, and that should not be a problem. I am not “straight” and I should not be treated like a lesser person for it. So, here is my question for you guys: do you think we (as a group or just you as an individual) are different or the same?
He was straight, by the way. I guess I should let this be known: I do not have a problem with straight people. People in general just sometimes say things I don’t agree with. In this case does heterosexual privilege have anything to do with it? Well, I’ll let you be the judge of that for yourselves.
**Video(s) coming soon. Would have been up, but I’ve been swamped with school. But today ends my school week! :)

Everyone’s different, and not just in terms of what we believe love is, or who love.

I think we are the same and focusing on our differences only breeds segregation. Same with racism.

I think that I would support us being the same. This emphasizes all humanity is alike, and that we shouldn’t be treated differently. :)

Everyone is different. That person is missing th point, it’s not that we want to be seen as generic or the same, we want to be equal to them

I don’t think you should have to be or act the same as anyone else, but I think people need to remember to treat everyone as human beings. :)

i think we’re different…I mean there are acceptions. They treat us differently so of course we’re going to think we’re different than them

We’re the same and i think that maybe we’d get treated differently if we didn’t label ourselves as different.

We’re the same, but different. We just don’t love or are attracted to others the same way that most of society does.

We are similarly different. We are all humans, but we are interested in different things. We are still able to function in society though. :)

I think people often confused “equa”l w/ “same. 4 quarters & 10 dimes are equal but not the same. Sameness shouldn’t be required for equality
